Users and roles
Open Manage → Users, or g then u. It needs the manage users permission, which by default only the owner holds.
People
New user asks for the full name, a username (short and lower-case, like ama.k), an e-mail and phone if they have them, the first password, and the roles they hold. Tell them the password in person and ask them to change it.
An owner's e-mail and phone matter beyond sign-in: they are where the day's figures go.
Click a person to:
- Edit their details and roles;
- Set a new password when they have forgotten theirs;
- Disable them, with a reason, when they leave. A disabled person cannot sign in but everything they ever did stays on the record under their name. Show disabled lists them, and Enable brings someone back.
Roles
Roles shows the five system roles and any the shop has added, each with the permissions it holds. See Roles and what each sees for what the defaults are and why.
New role takes a code (SHOP_MANAGER), a name, a description and the permissions to tick. Edit on a system role changes its permissions; the role itself cannot be deleted. A person's authorities are the union of every role they hold and refresh the moment a role is assigned or changed, without signing out.
